WOM member, Jessica Read, tells WOM more about her culinary choices in our new section, Member's Choice.
Which restaurant do you always recommend to friends and why?
A tiny Japanese restaurant on Caine Road called Kawsada. The service is excellent and the food is cheap and delicious. There is nothing like the salmon set course after a hard day at work. The sushi is very good as well and the pork cutlet noodle soup is a comforting and tasty option.
When dining at your favourite restaurants do you always order a particular dish?
I used to always order the slow-roasted lamb at M at the Fringe but now I like to try other dishes on the menu as they all sound so tempting. The pavlova is more often than not my dessert of choice though!
Where did you have dinner last night and what did you eat?
I was entertaining guests and we took them to Good Luck Thai restaurant in rat alley. We ordered fish cakes, morning glory, salt and pepper squid, tom yum, and whole fish covered in Thai spices and a tasty broth. It was a very satisfying meal and went down very well with an ice cold beer!
If your next meal was your last on Earth and you could eat at any restaurant in the world where would you eat?
I would eat at The Fat Duck (Bray, UK), which is owned by the wacky chef Heston Blumenthal. I'm extremely intrigued to try his inventions and hope they would live up to my expectations of being something out of this world (which would be fitting for my final night in this world)!
What do you like most about WOM Guide?
I like the fact that the reviews are a collection of member's opinions and I think that as a result, they paint an honest, all round picture of a restaurant.
