Revamped Backyard
In an attempt to "reincarnate fond childhood memories of lazy afternoons in idyllic leafy backyard paradises", Langham Place has created a 6,000 square foot outdoor space, namely The Backyard. Designed for grown-ups, The Backyard features European lounge furniture, oversized beanbags, mango trees, chill-out music, and a waterfall and water feature that streams throughout the space.
To introduce the space the hotel is offering its Lazy Daze promotion: three-hour free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne, plus unlimited wine, spirits, beer and pizza any time, any day for just $388. The Backyard is open from 5:00pm Monday - Friday, and from 12:00noon Saturday - Sunday.

Bostonian's Sustainable Seafood
The Bostonian restaurant has unveiled a fully sustainable seafood à la carte menu, one of the first in Hong Kong. Executive chef Mark Bannon says: "This has been a hugely educational journey for the whole team. I am proud of what we have achieved, in a relatively short time, and even prouder that we can now boast a fully-sustainable seafood offering. The new à la carte menu has been created to complement the produce, so dishes are kept simple, allowing the quality to speak for itself."

Chef Bannon has put the same amount of passion into sourcing the meat for the menu, which has undergone rigorous taste tests among the culinary team, who have decided US grass-fed steaks, Australian grain-fed steaks and the popular Welsh Lamb.
The Langham, Hong Kong is committed to engaging the public in sustainable seafood so from now until the end of May, 2010, guests can enjoy 25% off their total bill when ordering from the new à la carte menu. Terms and conditions apply.
