Misocool
Always packed
Eatcouple | Oct 9 2011
This is always packed because of the Central lunch crowd, so come at odd times like early or after lunch hour rush. Soup base is strong, but a bit too oily. Ramen is ok.

Azure Restaurant Slash Bar
Hike from MTR
Eatcouple | Oct 7 2011
It is quite a walk up the hill from the MTR station but I was rewarded with a gorgeous view by the windows. The food is nothing to write home about but I'm sure the attraction is not the food here.

Sabatini Ristorante Italiano
Country-style Italian
Eatcouple | Oct 3 2011
Most good HK Italian restaurants are high-end and formal, and I much prefer Sabatini for its casual rustic décor and food. Best thing about the antipasti buffet is the whole leg of parma ham (all you can eat!)

Hoi Yat Heen

came here for dim sum, and was won over by the abalone puff pastry. Other dim sum also good quality. Not expensive, but service is also not top-notch.

Wagyu Kaiseki Den
Not authentic
Eatcouple | Sep 19 2011
If anyone has been to Kyoto for REAL kaiseki meal, then this is a joke. Kaiseki should be pleasing to all senses. The presentation of the courses was alright, and the service was ok, but the quality of the ingredients was not top notch.

French Window, The
Not enough food?
Eatcouple | Sep 17 2011
Been here for dinner and first time for lunch. Compared to dinner, lunch seems like a good deal. Choose any 2 or 3 courses from the lunch a la carte menu for around $360. Good, right? But the portions were small. And the quality of the food is not as good as dinner. Can't say it is good value for money.

Bonheur
Good for big groups
Eatcouple | Sep 14 2011
Perfect venue for wine dinners because of the no-corkage policy. The restaurant is cozy but the tables are just a bit too close to one another in certain corners. Only set menu is served but the choices are great. Everything lived up to its expectation. For these prices, I would say the food is excellent. The staff were friendly and overall service was prompt and efficient.

Wooloomooloo Prime
Top of The One
Eatcouple | Sep 12 2011
As with any of the high-rise restaurants in The One, WP has an unrivaled view of HK at night. The outdoor terrace is smaller compared to other eateries below, but it is still nice to have a bit of al fresco area.

Cho Won Korean Restaurant
Cold noodles
Eatcouple | Sep 3 2011
One of the best kept secret in the "Korean town" in Hong Kong. The cold noodles is made with Korean soba noodles so it is chewy and drenched in the cold soup. But the beef that comes with the noodles was a bit dry and tough. I would still come back for the noodles.

Set lunch
Eatcouple | Sep 2 2011
The lunch is only $88, very good for Central. Small menu. Every set lunch consists of a soup, small salad, main course and coffee/tea. The soup is a watery cream soup. The salad is a pitiful looking plate of wilted vegetables. Luckily the hamb.

Watering Hole
Eatcouple | Aug 30 2011
On a weeknight, this place is packed after work. People come here for a drink or two before sitting down for some supper. I can't say the food is the best in the area but it is very decent and reasonably priced.

BLT Steak
Good lunch buffet
Eatcouple | Aug 29 2011
Although dinner here is quite expensive, the lunch option is quite reasonable. The buffet features pasta salad, green salad and other dishes that are quite decent. For around $100 you get this and dessert. Fill yourself up with the hot and tasty popovers. Good deal.

One Harbour Road
Chefs Table - a real gem
Eatcouple | Aug 20 2011
We arrived at the reception and were whisked through a back door to the kitchen, and within the kitchen stands a small room for our table for 10. The room is so well decorated we forgot we were eating inside the kitchen, but the great thing was we got to speak with Chef Tim, who carefully explained the process of cooking the dishes, and walked us through the entire menu. I particularly loved the crab claw with turnip cake in black pepper sauce, a wonderful combo taken from the popular Singaporean dishes - black pepper crabs and fried turnip cake. Corkage was waived as my friend had a Hyatt voucher - very nice!

Expensive
Eatcouple | Aug 17 2011
The famous food here is pigeon. Very tasty but the meaty parts are a bit dry and lack flavor. At these prices I can get better pigeon elsewhere, even in the same area.

Peking duck
Eatcouple | Aug 15 2011
The duck is not fatty, and the skin is roasted perfectly in their specially designed duck oven. Hard to secure a table, but there is not much choice in this neigbourhood for duck!

Cold night = snake soup
Eatcouple | Aug 14 2011
The drop in temperature allowed us to go have snake soup and some hearty fried gluttinous rice with preserved sausages. SWF does it well, tho it is also one of the more expensive places of its kind.

Amy's House
Healthy delight
Eatcouple | Jul 29 2011
When all vegetairan restaurants out there serve up fake meat and greasy veg, Amy's Kitchen stands out for its first class, creative dishes. There are dishes that have a meaty name but you really think that's what you are eating. Not for a moment do I feel like I'm eating just a bunch of vegetables. A truly healthy and satisfied lunch.

Angelini
Italian Brunch
Eatcouple | Jul 26 2011
Love the service at this classy restaurant. It is a semi-brunch buffet - buffet antipasti and dessert only. The antipasti selection was so so. The sea bass (main course) was quite nice but I should have ordered the lamb dish which was very well presented, juicy, tender and tasted perfect. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment. Two out of three items I tried were way too sweet but maybe perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

Fish Bar
My holiday
Eatcouple | Jul 21 2011
Since my holiday got cancelled because of work, I have been longing for a relaxing meal by the pool. Walking into Fish Bar, I felt like I was in a resort thousands of miles away. The wooden furniture, the pool, wait staff in tropical outfit - all seem very vacation-y. We shared the crab and lobster cake as a starter - decent proportion of crab and lobster meat, really nice and tangy tartare sauce. Then I picked the fish and chips as my main course. That day it was sole. The crunchy outside and the buttery and firm inside was enough to win my vote! The grilled barramundi my friend ordered was recommended by the waiter but a bit on the dry side. The mashed potatoes underneath was very nice.
