Which restaurant is your favourite?
My recent favourite is Iwanami. It has a very large selection of ultra fresh fish/shellfish which get flown in from Japan on a daily basis. The fact that the tempura is cooked right next to the sushi bar means that you can enjoy the best of both the innovative sashimi and the thinly battered tempura. The service of head chef Eric and his crew is very personal and friendly.
Which dish do you always order at Iwanami?
Definitely the tempura Abalone.
Which restaurant do you recommend to friends most and why?
I recommend "Tuscany by H" to my friends most recently because I have been impressed with the tailor-made menus, not to mention the impeccable service of the manager Kit. I recently had the best of Italian pork (Cinta Senese) and the most tender US lamb rack.
Where did you have dinner last night and what did you eat?
Last night, I attended a birthday dinner at Ming Yuen (Hong Kong Parkview). We had a sumptuous Chinese meal at a huge round table for 24, and I particularly enjoyed the shark's fin with Yunnan ham, and the steamed fish. They were really delicious!
What do you like most about WOM Guide?
I really like the WOM Choice section. It provides a short list of the best places to go for different occasions or when you have a sudden craving for a certain type of food. It is just so convenient.
