Philippa Young is our Member's Choice interviewee for June. She tells us about her favourite places to eat when doing business and her love for Spanish cuisine.
How long have you been a WOM member?
Not long, only around two months - but spiritually I've been a member for a lifetime.
Which restaurant is your favourite?
Tandoor Indian Restaurant. I would rate the delicious lunch buffet even if simply for the many little extras staff bring to your table throughout the meal. Puris, dosas, naan etc. Curries are all vastly differerent in taste - obviously made with different base pastes, as they should be, but so often aren't. And desserts are surprisingly good too.
Where was the last place you ate out for dinner and would you recommend it to others?
Tapeo. I would definitely recommend it for casual dining. Wonderful for foodies - although you may end up eating the whole menu - the dessert menu is one of the best I have seen or tasted in Hong Kong.
Which restaurant would you recommend for a business meeting?
Circular tables at Chinese eateries are great for business meetings, but lunchtimes are busy and noisy. Book ahead for a corner table in the quietest spot or try The Pawn, which always seems to be quiet at lunch and has plenty of hideaway areas if it isn't.
If tonight's dinner was your last on Earth what would you eat?
I would want a full spread of Spanish tapas - great wine, tiny tasters of everything on the menu and the Spanish do fabulous desserts. And Sangria!
