Our Member's Choice interviewee for May is Nico Yeung. She talks about her favourite cuisine, her favourite restaurant, her last memorable meal.

What do you like most about the website?
I like about the WOM guide that they have suggestions/recommendations of restaurants in different categories, since most of the time I really do not know what I am looking for. And I especially like the category "Ambiance". It would come in handy when I want to find a place to suit my mood instead of just all about food. And they have proper food critics/chefs to comment on the food, I find the site less commercial and make it more reliable.
If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, which cuisine would you pick?
That's such a tough choice!! I would say European.
Which restaurant in Hong Kong is your favourite for enjoying the above cuisine?
I really like Applegreen! it is not a fancy place but the restaurant is vibrant, you can see people enjoying their chats and happy eating, all happy faces. They has a lot of choice on salad. All of them are large enough to share and you can even mix your own! Can rarely see that in other restaurants! Since the staffs are really friendly, food always keep up to their standard, food comes in fast and the decoration of the restaurant is warm and hip, totally boost up a positive eating mood.
If you had a foodie friend visit you in Hong Kong for the first time where would you take them to eat?
I would definitely bring them to Dai Pai Dong, probably sound a little cliché but that definitely is iconic of Hong Kong's food. I would bring them to the Temple Street area. There we already can see a lot of local culture happening while there are Dai Pai Dong for local delicacies e.g. clay pot rice. Other than the good food, the place is full of spirit. I am sure it would be a good dining experience in Hong Kong.
What is your favourite comfort food and where do you go for it?
My favourite comfort food is ice cream. And I like the peanut butter flavour in XTC a lot.
Tell me about your last memorable meal and what made it so memorable.
The last memorable meal would be a Birthday dinner with a friend recently in heichinrou in central. We had it on a Sunday night. It is a well-decorated restaurant that is not crowded, the food is really good and the portion is just right. The waiters are very attentive, always having a smile on their faces. We altered the menu a little to suit the liking of the Birthday person. 10 of us are very happy with the matching of the wine and the food. The birthday person was especially happy that night. We stayed till they closed and it was wonderful to eat with your closest friend at a decent and quiet restaurant with very attentive service. A memorable meal does not only involve good food, but the matching of the people and the ambiance of the restaurant that makes a different!
