Juliet London is our Member's Choice interviewee for December. While she finds it hard to pick her favourite cuisine she has no trouble choosing which restaurants she recommends most and what she would eat for her last supper.
What do you like most about WOMguide's website?
Definitely the restaurant selector. Feel like Vietnamese in Tai Hang? Just plug it in and see what is recommended.
What is your favourite cuisine?
Oh, that's a tough question - if I could only have one for the rest of my life, is there such a thing as Australian - an interesting combination of ingredients, cooked simply to highlight their freshness? Otherwise, I'd go with Italian. Or maybe Thai. Or perhaps French.
Which restaurant would you recommend for a business meeting?
Recently I had a delicious lunch at Basement, underneath Homeless on Gough Street. It's quiet and discrete. It's excellent value too.
Which restaurant do you recommend to friends most and why?
The Thai-Chinese at Shek-O, because of the great food and location; Himalaya in Wan Chai, because the food is beautiful and the service unassuming; Lei Garden or Peking Garden because the food is so utterly delicious (though I wish they'd tone down the lighting). And, most recently Basement.
If tonight's dinner was your last on Earth what would you eat?
Roast chicken, roast potatoes and peas. Followed by rhubarb crumble. You can take the girl out of Britain but you can't take Britain out of the girl.
