Surf and Turf
Coffee Mill at Gateway Hotel has introduced a beef and seafood dinner buffet promotion available until the end of February. The buffet is priced at $278-298 adults, $168-188 children (depending on the evening) and each diner will receive a complimentary Shabu Shabu with Sliced Wagyu Beef.
Highlights from the selections include US Veal Rib with Black Pepper, US Fat Beef and Mushroom Satay, Hot Chilli Top Side Chinese Style, Roasted US Striploin, Roasted Australian Rib Eye, Korean Grilled Beef, Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab; Steamed Star Grouper, and Steamed Garlic Scallop.
Azure's Seafood and Bubbles
Azure has introduced a seafood platter and champagne promotion. Included in the seafood platter are Spiced Rubbed Tuna with Citrus Dressing, Potato Foam and Caviar; Seared Sea Scallop with Creme Fraiche; House Made Citrus Salmon Gravlax; Prawn Ceviche with Soba Noodle and Bamboo Salad. The Seafood Platter is priced at $568 per person with two flutes of Moet Chandon Imperial Brut or $468 per person with two flutes of Green Point Sparkling. Each additional person dining at the same table will be charged an extra $300 or $250 respectively.
L’Eclipse's Personalised Feasting
The Langham, Hong Kong’s executive chef Mark Bannon recently said “2009’s predicted downturn highlights the need in the market for choice and for the opportunity to celebrate successes. Guests wishing to treat themselves need something really special if they are going to spend, and our dinner experience at L’Eclipse is all about quality, the feasting tradition and an incredible array of taste and choice.”
Included in L’Eclipse’s new dinner experience is unlimited lobster on the seafood bar, a choice of fresh oysters and a choice of a la carte items like Wagyu beef cooked to order. In addition there are, prawns, yabbies, Alaskan crab claws, clams, mussels and whelks, together with house smoked salmon carved for each diner. There is also sushi freshly made “any-way-you-like-it” in rolls, cones and nigiri; and tuna, salmon, kingfish, hokkigai, scallop and prawn sashimi, cut to order.
If that is not appealing enough diners can also try hand-carved Asian kebabs of lamb, beef, chicken, fish or roasted peppers served with custom-made roti breads. While the wok-fired station offers vegetables, carved meats and succulent seafood fried-to-order.
The dinner is priced at $468-488 adults and $268-288 children, depending on the night.
Chez Moi's Valentine's Menu
Valentine's Day may seem a long way away, however restaurants fill up fast for this largely commercial celebration of love, so if you plan to eat out on the 14th book early. Having already planned its Valentine's menu is European restaurant Chez Moi. It will serve a decadent five-course menu for $850 per person.
The menu begins with a glass of champagne with the signature appetiser of Beetroot Gazpacho and Creamed Horseradish. Next is Duck Foie Gras Terrine with Spiced Baby Pears and Truffle Croutes, and Brittany Rock Oysters with Caviar Cream. After a refreshing sorbet, the main course choice is either Braised Australian Wagyu Beef Cheek with Ginger Baby Carrots, Wild Mushrooms and Tarragon or Roast Norwegian Salmon, with a salad of asparagus, quails egg and lemon beurre blanc. Dessert is Strawberry and White Chocolate Mille Feuille.
Amber's Black Truffle Menu
Amber is currently serving a Black Winter Truffle menu that is available until the end of the month. Included in the six-course dinner are Autumn Vegetables & Winter Truffles served as a small salad over a foie gras panna cotta; Erquy Scallops with Black Winter Truffles, Potimarron & Hazelnut; Iberian Pork Chin, Belly, Loin & Cheek with Celeriac and Black Winter Truffles; Matured Spring Beaufort marbled with Black Winter Truffles, Veal Jus with Hazelnut Oil; and Black Winter Truffle & Condensed Milk Ice Cream, Salted Caramel Brulee & Almond Foam.
The dinner is priced at $1,588 per person or $2,588 with wine pairings.
Wildfire Opens in WTC
Popular Igor's restaurant Wildfire has opened a branch in the WTC More shopping center in Causeway Bay. The restaurant features sea views and floor-to-ceiling windows. Signature dishes include oven-fresh pizzas such as Mediterranean, Black Forest, Prawns and Scallops, and The Texan; Slow Braised BBQ Pork Ribs; and Wildfire Kebab.
The Mira's CNY
The Mira is celebrating the Year of the Ox with festive dishes, menus and hampers. From 26 January, Yamm will offer some traditional Lunar New Year Delicacies such as Chinese turnip cake and Chinese pudding. Dong will serve a series of CNY menus:
Lunar New Year Shark’s fin & Dim Sum Set Lunch ($188 pp), Lunar New Year Set Lunch Specialties ($398 for two), Lunar New Year Set Lunch for Four ($798), and Lunar New Year Set Dinner ($1,688 for 4, $2,288 for 6 and $3,988 for 12 persons).
In addition festive hampers are also available, including treats such shark’s fin, bird’s nest, and dried scallops. They range in price from $1,888 to $3,888. Finally, tailor-made, authentic Chinese festive favorites can be ordered for those who want to entertain at home.
Valentine's Package
One way to ensure that Valentine's is a memorable, romantic, and not stressful event, is to celebrate early. Award-winning boutique hotel The Fleming, is offering a Valentine's package for two including a candlelit dinner and breakfast at just $1,688 from 7-15 February.
The package includes a stay in a premium executive room or deluxe room, including a bottle of sparkling wine, a floral bouquet, home-made Valentine’s Day cookies, an aroma selection of choice, L’Occitane bath amenities and a selection of romantic DVDs. The package is good value with just the dinner for two at The Fleming's restaurant Cubix valued at $999.
The set dinner starts with an appetiser combination of Serrano Ham with White Jelly, Crab with Avocado and King Prawn, followed by a Cream of Asparagus Soup. A champagne sorbet introduces main course choices of either Grilled Beef Tenderloin or French Duck Confit with Port Wine Sauce. A "sweet heart dessert" completes the romantic dinner, with petit fours and coffee or tea.
The morning features a continental breakfast, and late check-out till 3pm is also included, subject to availability.
A juice and fruit bar with an extensive presentation of fresh juices and fruit cut-to-order.
Additional treasures on a daily indulgence menu include luxury products like Wagyu beef, giant scallops and New Zealand lamb, as well as a stunning dessert tasting platter served to your table, on top of the sweet treats and hand made truffles bar.
