Ritz Carlton Appoints Exec Chef

The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Find to the position of executive chef. German-born Find will oversee six restaurants and a team of 100 chefs. He will be responsible for the planning and directing of the culinary operations in the hotel. "The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is a destination in itself. Diners can expect authentic and delectable cuisine and I like them to have the feeling that they can't wait to come back."

Find first joined The Ritz-Carlton as executive sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore in 2001. He was then promoted to executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel & Spa in 2003. In 2007, he moved to back to Asia and joined Wynn Macau and Encore at Wynn Macau as director of culinary operations - where he supervised more than 400 chefs in eight restaurants - before heading back to Hong Kong to take up the position with the The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong.

Sing Yin Opens

The first W Chinese Restaurant, Sing Yin has opened. The restaurant "promises a creative mix of traditional Chinese cooking with a hip, stylish and contemporary interior that is both edgy and respectful to Hong Kong's gastronomic traditions".

Overseeing the menu is Bryan Lee who has 30 years of culinary experience under his belt. He brings to the table a menu ranging from Guangdong dim sum to a choice of seafood delicacies, all of which originate from the Southern Chinese tradition. "Cooking isn't just a job for me," says Chef Lee, "It's my passion and it's my art. I can't picture myself doing anything else except using all my creativity to design gourmet meals from the heart." 

Grand Central Bar & Grill

Grand Central Bar & Grill, an American sports bar and grill has just opened in Elements. The restaurant serves East Coast American fare, including a raw bar, Wagyu burgers, baby-back ribs, grilled fish and chicken, and a wide selection of USDA prime and dry-aged steaks. There is also classic American oversized desserts such as key lime pie and New York cheese cake. During happy hour, complimentary mini-hamburgers and buffalo chicken wings will be served.
