Japanese Delights

Hotel Nikko Hongkong's Lobby Lounge is presenting a variety of cooked-to-order tempura, robatayaki and ramen as part of its afternoon tea buffet. At the robatayaki counter, ox tongue, pork chuck, chicken and mixed vegetable skewers are grilled a-la-minute. Also on the cooked-to-order list is prawn tempura, vegetable tempura, mushroom kakiage and shirako kakiage. There is also Sapporo Ramen.

Other chef recommended items include chilled beancurd and snow crabmeat, grilled mackerel fillet with lemon wedges, roast salmon head with black pepper, and congee. For chocoholics, there are chocolate glutinous rice roll with banana purée filling and caramelised pear with milk chocolate mousse. 

The new afternoon tea buffet is available from 3-5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays starting 9 October, at $178 per adult and $138 per child. 

New Chef

Hullett House has appointed Sze Fai as executive chef of Loong Toh Yuen. Chef Sze has over 30 years of experience, including stints at The Dynasty Club and The China Club, and most recently The Royal Garden as well as the Palace Hotel in Beijing.

From October, Chef Sze will present a series of new dishes including Stewed Mini Abalone With Quail Egg In Spiced Pu-Erh Tea Leaves, Fresh Grouper Fillet Steamed With Sauce and Baked With Garlic, Steamed Lettuce Parcels Stuffed With Assorted Superior Vegetables; and Baked Prawn in Superior Broth.

Inagiku's New Chef

Hitoshi Inoue has joined Inagiku Japanese Restaurant at The Royal Garden as executive chef. Prior to joining The Royal Garden, Chef Inoue was head chef of the 100-seat Hana Japanese restaurant at the Disney Ambassador Hotel near Tokyo, Japan.

Chef Inoue is currently presenting a selection of washoku dishes such as seasonal deluxe appetisers; Japanese clam with fish paste and matsutake soup; and grilled seasonal - Japanese Kinki fish and sea urchin; snow crab leg; Waygu beef and matsutake roll and Kyoto Manganji chilli pepper. 

New Classifieds

Two new branches of Classified are opening in October, located in Exchange Square (6/10) and Sai Kung (mid month). Both branches will offer breakfast and all day dining menus, artisan cheese, gourmet coffee, and boutique wines.
