Cafe Iguana Opens

The Igor's Group has opened contemporary Mexican restaurant, Cafe Iguana, on Wyndham Street; downstairs is a bar and people-watching area with the dining room on the second floor. Highlights from the menu include Guacamole in four flavours - Traditional/Prawns and Crab/Roasted Poblano Pepper/Serrano; Beef Taco, Enchilada Mole (rolled corn tortillas with chicken in chocolate and chilli sauce topped with sour cream and avocado, black beans and rice; Alambres Al Pastor (grilled skewers of chicken or prawns marinated in Ancho chilli, pineapple juice, honey and spices, "al pastor" style served with roasted lime-oregano potatoes; and Churros (fried pastry dusted in cinnamon sugar served with chocolate cream).

The weekday set lunch already has people raving about the excellent value - $88 for two courses or $108 for three.  

Italian Set Dinner

Cinecitta has introduced a set dinner menu for summer for only $290 per person. The four-course dinner includes antipasti, pasta, a veal main, and dessert.

Michelin Chef Joins H one

Jusse Mikkonen of Helsinki's two-star Michelin restaurant, Chez Dominique, has joined the team at H one as an executive chef, working alongside Alberto Boccelli. The duo will introduce new a la carte menus every three months. Some Mikkonen signature dishes currently available include Sautéed Scallops, Mortadella Ham, Sicilian Lemon, Celery and Tapioca Pearls; Roasted Foie Gras, Marcona Almonds and Apples Poached in Verjus; Roasted Organic Challans Chicken, Stewed Castelluccio Lentils, Shaved Black Summer Truffle and Chicken Jus; and Braised Iberico Pork Cheeks Glazed Turnips with Rosemary and Lemon.

100 New Curries

Thai Lemongrass has introduced a new menu of 100 curries! The menu is divided into 12 different types of curry, each with distinct flavours with multiple choices in each type: green, red, yellow, Massaman, young coconut, Thai Pheanang, red Pumpkin, Lemongrass Dry, Tom Yum, Pineapple Yellow, Lychee Pheanang, and Curry in Bread.

Bargain Seafood

Santa Lucia currently has a Pacific Rim seafood buffet available for only $138 or $158 on Saturday at lunch. At dinner a four-course Pacific Rim seafood set dinner is available for a bargain price of $428 for two persons.

New Seafood Options

From Monday, The Greenery will be adding an Aussie and Canadian Seafood counter to its buffet selection. In addition, each diner will receive a complimentary serving of Poached Australian Abalone and a Grilled King Prawn. The buffet is also discounted by 30 per cent until the end of the month.

Running Bulls Tapas

In celebration of the annual running of the bulls event in July, Boca has introduced four beef tapas dishes. Spanish Air-Dried Beef (thin slices of beef on a bed of arugula, shaved manchego cheese and drizzled truffle oil), Braised Veal Cheeks (fork-tender candied veal with manchego infused potato puree, celery and apple salad and red-reduction sauce), Rabo de Toro (braised oxtail casserole and chickpeas served with large wedge of freshly-baked focaccia) and Pinchos de Carne (skewers of beef marinated in garlic and paprika with cauliflower and a side of sherry-red pepper butter) The tapas are priced from $65 and can all be paired with a Spanish wine.

Mushroom Madness 

Gaia is treating diners to a selection of dishes that feature the best of the seasons mushrooms. Indulge in winter black truffles from Australia or summer black truffles from Europe. Fresh porcini, morel, and wonderful chanterelle are also highlighted.
