Steak and Seafood Promo
Morton's of Chicago is serving its gourmet ‘Steak and Seafood Promotion' at its Hong Kong restaurant at the Sheraton Hotel. On the promotional menu satisfying both steak and seafood lovers is a Single-cut Filet Mignon, Morton's leanest and most tender cut of beef, served with Bearnaise sauce - plus a choice of seafood from Broiled Sea Scallops, Colossal Shrimp Alexander or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, being accompanied by a signature potato or fresh vegetable. Also included is a choice of Morton's signature salads. The cost is $550 per person and the menu is set to run until the end of June.
Easter Goodies
For those celebrating at home during Easter the Mandarin Cake Shop offers a selection of home-baked treats and traditional specialties for takeaway or delivery to any address in Hong Kong. Created by executive chef, Uwe Opocensky, items in the Easter hamper include Chocolate Therapy box, chocolate bunny, hot cross bun, sugar eggs and a jar of the hotel's renowned Rose Petal Jam; the hamper is priced at $1,088. Guests may also order light-as-air breads, cakes and pastries by executive pastry chef Yves Matthey, while gifted cake artist Bob Tay promises an incredible display of innovative themed cakes.
Bubba Gump Expands Menu
Fresh seafood, Asian flavours and stir-fry dishes have been introduced to an expanded new menu by Bubba Gump.
Among new appetisers, with prices ranging from $80-$168, are 'Dynamite Shrimp' poppers with spicy Asian sauce, and ‘Greenbow Tenders'; spicy chicken strips with blue cheese dipping sauce. There is also also Little Neck Clams and Mussels steamed in Wine, Butter and Garlic.
There is also the 'Yin Yang' Salad which can be made with your choice of chicken or shrimp and includes fresh greens, mango, peanuts, tangy wasabi dressing and crispy wonton strips. The Pear and Berry Salad is also new; with charbroiled chicken, raspberries, strawberries, pears, glazed pecans and feta cheese.
The new seafood selections include Steamed Mussels, Clams, Snow Crab, Shrimp and Lobster Claw, Oven-baked Seabass stuffed with Crab and Shrimp, Pan Fried Baramundi with Mango Pineapple Salsa and Grilled Cajun Snapper with homemade Salsa.
Easter for the Kids
Yamm has kept the kids in mind with its range of activities planned for Easter Sunday. This includes Magician, Ball Twisting, a visit from the Easter Bunny and picture taking. A special Easter buffet will be available from 10-13 April and lunch is priced at $288 per adult and $198 per child, there is also an afternoon tea buffet at $198, and a dinner buffet at $550 per person.
In addition Coco's newly arrived award-winning chocolate master pastry chef, Thomas Lui has specially created a series of Easter cakes, chocolate blocks and mini easter eggs that will be available thought April.
Grand Hyatt's Easter Plans
Although Easter is still two weeks away it is never too early to finalise plans. Here's some of what's happening at the Grand Hyatt over Easter Sunday.
Tiffin's European Easter Sunday Lunch Buffet: The lunch buffet will feature a selection of European Easter savoury items. Highlights include Scallops, Foie Gras, Seafood on Ice, hot dishes, homemade desserts and many more. During the meal, kids are invited to the eggs painting station to demonstrate their talents and create their own Easter Eggs.
Available on Sunday, 12 April 2009, 11:00am to 2:30pm. Adults $580 or $738 with free flowing Moet & Chandon Rose Champagne/; Children $290 with a surprise Easter giveaway.
Grissini's Sunday Lunch Buffet: Taste an authentic Italian Easter Feast with a glass of Italian sparkling wine, antipasti, seafood dishes, home-style Italian favourites, live pasta cooking station and fabulous desserts. Available on Sunday, 12 April 2009, 12:00pm to 2:30pm, Adult $455/Child $228.
The Chocolatier - Gifts for Friends and Relatives: A selection of innovative Easter goodies including Easter chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, bunny cookies, Easter egg cookies and egg pralines is available from 30 March to 13 April 2009 at the Chocolatier in the hotel lobby.
