Wok this Way and Win
For the first time ever in the Hong Kong hotel industry, two chefs from the JW Marriott embarked on an 11-day journey to five Asian cities just to research the food for a Friday and Saturday night buffet - Wok this Way, now available at The Lounge. The tour kicked off when the two chefs headed for Bangkok, then Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City. The executive chef also created a blog (http://wokthiswayhk.com) of the trip that he is still maintaining, recently adding a recipe for satay. Having recently tried the buffet I can highly recommend it for both variety and authenticity.
When asked about how the concept came to be, the hotel's executive chef, Chef Hector said, "We embarked on this project with a very clear objective in mind - to offer a unique and exciting dining experience for our guests. I've always been fascinated by street food. It is one of the purest forms of cuisine anywhere in the world. Think about it, street food is a very competitive market. These guys cannot rely on expensive design, or fancy service - it's all about the food! The only way to draw customers is to make your food better than anyone else, specialise in one or two dishes at the most, and have recipes finely tuned by years of experience. This in essence is what we are trying to achieve - real, unpretentious street cuisine, but in a clean and stylish environment."

Some key highlights include Nasi Goreng, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Rojak, Vietnamese Sandwiches, Penang Laksa, Satay, Pad Thai, Shrimp Crackers, Freshly-boiled Congee, Thai Ice Cream Sandwiches, and much, much more.
And, until 5 September every diner will have a chance to win a prize from over 40 up for grabs, including hotel stays and dining vouchers. Plus it is excellent value for money at only $260 per adult and $185 for children.have image
