Revamped Cafe

The Excelsior's all-day dining restaurant, Café on the 1st, has re-opened. Executive chef Mario Corti presents a series of creative signature dishes designed to entice discerning gourmands.  The new menu features Café Satay Selection with six satay varieties each complemented with a special sauce, for example, lobster satay paired with mango coriander, beef satay with truffle Dijon mustard, and scallop satay with salsa verde. In addition, Chef Mario presents an Asian twist on Char-grilled Australian lobster with minced chicken "Sichuan style" that truly enhances the freshness of lobster. Another savoury creation is Alaskan King crabs legs with porcini mushroom, Italian pancetta black ink spaghettini with Gruyere cheese that adds creaminess and complexity to the dish.

The lunch and dinner buffet showcases diverse international cuisine along with a new array of Cantonese delicacies such as freshly steamed dim sum and Chinese BBQ roast.  Guests with a sweet tooth will be tempted by more than 20 varieties of daily desserts ranging from chocolate crème brûlée, egg white cake, mango and lychee low fat cheese cake to the ever popular bread and butter pudding. During dinner buffet, a cheese fondue fountain with assorted condiments will be available.
