Va Bene
11.03.2009
Two days after I first arrived in Hong Kong many years ago I had a memorable birthday dinner at Va Bene, enjoying both the food and the ambience. The restaurant has been popular since it first opened, and moved to larger premises a few years ago. I had not eaten there since the move and was therefore looking forward to my return visit to see if the food was as good as I remembered.

Italian Cuisine
10.06.2009
Italian cuisine has a long and rich history and can trace its roots back to at least the 4th century. Like French cuisine its evolution has been shaped by geographical and political events. Today the cuisine can be enjoyed in almost every country and is the firm favourite of many.

Just fantastic

There are two great Italian restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong - Va Bene and Tuscany by H. The former has been around for a long time, and there is a reason for that - the food is amazing. Service is sloppy at times but it is never bad. Get the manager to order for you (if budget is not a concern!) or get the simple dishes. Deceivingly good.

Not cheap for what it is, but it is in LKF.
Pastas are good. Dining room is basic chic. Service is attentive.- How much did you spend?

who needs food when you can have these desserts!
Jeremy Young | Aug 30 2010
Laid back setting with carefully prepared food help sets up the perfect finale with sumptious proportions of truely wonderful desserts! I wish I had less main course portions so I could enjoy more of the desserts. No better place to start a romantic evening with unlimited possibilities when your date is brought to the heavens thanks to no effort of your own (okay you have to pay). Or perhaps it's just the sugar high from the desserts?

Always good, wholesome Italian fare. Huge portions and do not leave without trying the chocolate mousse....you won't be disappointed. Decent prices too

Still great after all these years.

A real Lan Kwai Fong institution, Va Bene continues to serve excellent regional Italian cuisine. From the fresh pastas to the buffalo mozzarella, the food continues to be reliably one of Hong Kong's finest Italian restaurants.
