  Simply Life at IFC, another quality addition to Maxim's growing portfolio of higher-end eateries, has a Dean + Deluca vibe that makes it a pleasant stop for a casual business lunch or even a scenic dinner date overlooking the harbor from the restaurant's floor to ceiling windows.
  
  The western style menu offers a wide array of healthy dishes and more conventional deli fare. The rocket with cranberry dressing and parmessan slices is a refreshing starter, and another salad with a poached egg and chunky bacon bits was comparatively rich but tasty. My wife had a generous cut of salmon over a rissoto slightly flavored with cheese and topped with fresh dill. Even better was my squid ink pasta prepared with olive oil and garlic and loads of poached calamari. Other items on their menu which we rather enjoyed on previous visits were their steaks, pasta with shrimp and a grilled chicken in a balsamic vinegar sauce.
  
  All in all, there's nothing remarkable about Simply Life's predictable menu, but with reliable cooking, friendly service and a great view there's not much to complain about either. It's simply good.
