nothing special
Natasha L | Feb 24 2011
A wide menu of teppanyaki, robata yaki, sushi/sashimi, cooked food, appetizers and etc. The food was alright, you can get a bit of everything, but nothing that will draw us back. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere was comfortable with comfy booths and spread out tables. Nice view too. Perfect space for an intimate dinner with a small group.

Lunch vs Dinner
Freddielovesfood | Oct 12 2010
Lunch, although not cheap because it is after all IFC, is a bargain compared to dinner. You get the same food but it is about 50% more expensive during dinner. Quite a big selection of Japanese dishes, from sushi to teppanyaki to grilled food. Everyone will find something he likes.

New location

I have always been a loyal customer of Rei Sushi, even since it opened a few years ago. Decent sushi and set lunch at decent prices (for Central anyway) The only problem was that it was difficult to book a table for lunch.
The recent move to second level at IFC is a great thing. The restaurant is bigger and there is a pretty nice view of the harbour. Menu is more or less the same, with great set lunch selection. More importantly, there are more tables, meaning they can accommodate more customers!
One small complaint - the new staff are completely clueless. Need serious training. Still, I'm coming back!- How much did you spend?

sashimii

Since the last few times I've been to Rei Sushi, service has never failed to be attentive and helpful. The waiters and managers are well-informed of the seasonal dishes and daily specials, so do take their advice to have guaranteed excellent quality food brought to the table.
For sashimi lovers, here's a tip: instead of ordering the usual sashimi dishes, ask the waiters for what's fresh in stock. The sushi chefs would gladly serve out the most seasonal fish (that's also prepared in the most meticulous manner) for you to try out!
