Up to par (for Chef Bombana
I went with a few friends for dinner within 2 weeks of its opening. We did not have high expectation because it had only opened less than a month ago, but since it is Umberto's restaurant, we were hoping to be surprised.
The setting is very "Central", and the tables are not so close together that you can strike up a conversation with your neighbour.
Limited choices on the menu, but all look good. The Japanese carpaccio was a delight. Light but flavourful. The mushroom risotto was one of the best we have had in town. Although the waiter strongly recommended the veal, the lamb chops were miles better. Hearty selection of desserts also.
We concluded after dinner that we will go back, but only for special ocassions because it is quite expensive and no one wants to have dinner near the office after work.
