Dinner consisted of a good crispy-skinned suckling pig, but it could have had more taste in the meat. The skin is very crispy and good though.
The bacalau with egg is our favorite of the evening.
We miss the old spot, but having a nice balcony on QRE is good for an outdoor meal.
700 for 2 persons
Good
Razor clams w Olive Oil, Garlic and white wine, sweet fresh 3.5/5 but $168 is pretty steep
Bacalaou gratineed w matchstick fries- after a false start which wasnt crispy, the chef brought out a great recovery. 3/5
A very nice Douro white- dry and biscuity﹑ Planalto
Bread was crispy and fresh
Caesar salad fresh, crisp lettuce but dressing was bland: need lemon, garlic and pepper, croutons stale﹑ nice touch get own parm 2/5
Skipped the portuguese baked rice(30 min seemed too long)
Oxtail Stew; nice black pepper, nutmeg and cinn with tomato sauce; a bit like bolognaise but lacking the depth of flavor from braising with good stock. 3.5/5 very family style presentation in a casserole dish but no sides for $168...
Grilled Spicy Chicken: oregano, cinn, nutmeg, cayenne grilled perfectly; needed lemon 3/5
service is friendly but not vey attentive on follow up- typical hk﹑
Always seemed off cue
They let the table next to us smoke cigars on the patio- ok, we're outside but this is another sign of a business not being willing to say no to one customer who risks losing others. I didn't fuss about it but people at another table asked to move.
Chef was on floor more than line- perhaps he wouldn't have to apologize to several tables about the kitchen's errors if he spent more time on the line during dinner service.
1180 for 3 small dishes, 2 entrees & wine- seemed expensive for peasant food served family style w no sides and paper napkins decent silverware and china but cheap cheap dei glasses. 2:75/5
