    from bad to worse

This 'pub' started out so nicely: Irish pub, fish'n'chips shop out-the-back, Indian curry take-away on-the-side. It honestly sounds like the recipe for success is expat Discovery Bay. so why is it a failure?

    In a word?

    Quality

    or lack there of

quality of service (f.x. "can I have a pint of lager please? WHAT? can I have a beer please? WHAT? Can I have a Guinness? No Have. Beer? "

The food has gone from mediocre to worse while still offering the same combo of pub grub/chippie/curry as from the outset 3 years ago - but by vintage it does not improve I am affraid.

While I have a sense of humour I must confess that I fail to see how McSorley's can claim to be child friendly: During the recent World Cup it was the scene of some pretty basic demonstrations of human behavior; during normal sports transmissions whatever the time of day all sorts of language can be heard; it is located next to a licqour store and a toilet which strangely seems to rub off its clientele.

I wish someone who know how a REAL pub should be run would take over the space.
