Tea fit for a king
Karina | Oct 28 2010
I made the mistake of ordering the tea set after a big lunch last weekend. As Princess suggested below, there was a lot of food, and being a sweet-tooth person, I gobbled down almost all the cakes and everything sweet. Thankfully my friend prefers savory food so she happily finished all the sandwiches and pastries, which she said were on the bland side.
I also had the hot chocolate. The waiter gives you a small bowl of chocolate and a small bowl of cream so you can adjust the intensity yourself. How cute!
I was so full I thought my stomach would burst!- How much did you spend?

Classic

Without the long line and noise, the lobby lounge is the perfect escape on a Sunday afternoon. The delicate china, the warm scones and strawberry jam just make life a little bit prettier. Don't underestimate the afternoon tea set as it consists of a lot of food and it will fill you up till past dinner time. What I like to do is have a big breakfast, skip lunch and come here for afternoon tea. It really makes all your trouble go away.

Pre-showHot Spot
RK | Oct 16 2009
We stop over at The Lobby Cafe pretty much everytime we watch a show/opera performance at the HK Cultural Center.
Foodwise, we usually order the same dishes: the classic spaghetti bolognaise and the suzzy q. sandwich. Some new Asian dishes have been incorporated into the menu recently, and my wife tried the Vietnamese Beef noodles which did not disappoint. Portions are definitely large enough for pre-show meals.- How much did you spend?

A graceful lady
Karina | Oct 16 2009
The Peninsula is still the most elegant hotel in HK and the lobby lounge is like a graceful lady. Sipping tea here makes you forget about all troubles and you would want to stop and enjoy life for a while.
