French Cuisine
12.05.2009
Most people love French food, there is something almost romantic about the cuisine, and is often a popular choice when dining on special occasions. The cuisine has a long history and many of the most important chefs, both past and present are French.

watch out for the hidden service charge
stephen mitchell | Mar 14 2010
was looking forward to dinner as several French friends gave it great reviews. ordered scallops to start only to be informed 5 mins later there were none left. Quickly realised that our waiter was very new to the job as he kept tripping over the step and was either topping up our glasses every time we took a sip or else nowhere to be found while we sat with dirty plates in front of us for 5 minutes. Main of Bresse chicken was great.
Then the bill came, no service charge on it so I added 10%. While I was waiting I thought the bill seemed a little high, tried adding it up but still couldn't get to the total. Queried it with the waiter who checked with the manager who explained that they had already added 10% but it just doesn't show up in the bill. I then told him had added 10% again so he offered to cancel that but no apology or proper explanation. I wonder how many other people have been caught out by this 'mistake'. Despite the good food I'll never eat there again because of this.- How much did you spend?

Quiet al fresco dining a step away from Soho
eat-or-be-eaten | Apr 2 2009
Forget the big gimmicky mass-market places that are taking over Soho. Right along its borders, you can have a deeply satisfying, carefully prepared meal at La Terrasse. (You can hit the bars afterwards!) The mussels flown in from France, when they are available, are not to be missed. Everything else is delicious, too!
As for dessert, the last poster must not have had the hot apple tart. You must wait 15-20 minutes for preparation, but it's to die for! -
Romantic getaway

Very romantic terrasse at the back of this tiny restaurant serving absolutely delicious food with good service. A bit disappointed by the desert though.
