Value-for-Money Buffets

Value for money has been one of the themes of the year for the restaurant industry. Hong Kong diners still want to go out as much as they always have but they want to see value for their money. Restaurants have responded in a number of ways, including introducing buffets that combine quality and variety for a reasonable cost. In the third article of WOM's buffet series I introduce you to three restaurants that have buffets that will satisfy both your hunger and your budget. I also ask the chefs more about providing quality offerings for a good price.

Now that Chef Harlan is no longer here, they try to justify the name of the restaurant with ads showcasing some dish with a bottle of Harlan's cult wine next to it. So not cool. Service is crap as ever.

A diversed menu, with everything from seafood bar, to sandwiches and burgers, to steaks, etc. Food is decent, with a nice place and nice view.

This IFC restaurant has a lively atmosphere at lunchtime, with plenty of business types tucking in to the slightly pricy but tasty fare. The lunch sets are decent value- though my salad was rather sparse- and some decent red wine washed it all down agreeably. Ordering a la carte, as one colleague did, looks to be worse value.
