BOX Thai
12.05.2009
Recently opened Box Thai, is a welcome addition to the Central dining scene, especially if you are fan of Thai food. The casual dining space serves food that ticks all the boxes: the flavours are authentic, interesting choices, and some of the best value-for-money food in the area. Box Thai is the latest restaurant from Concept Creations, the company behind Tapeo, Mrs Jones, and Frites. Although it hasn't been open for long it was jumping with satisfied diners on the weeknight we visited.

It all makes sense

The food is amazing, my mom's Thai and took her to the restaurant, she loved the place! I dine with a lot of people who hate too much spice, and I reckon the restaurant does alright. For once a restaurant who has reasonable prices, wicked cocktails and big tables. The lunch sets are the best value at $78. Finally something like this has arrived and has become my regular restaurant rather than bar.
playing to a mass market

the huge tables are only good if you dont like talking to the person opposite you. food is good but bland and catering to the mass palate. Would be more fun if the food was a shocker. Thai food needs a kick in hong kong and this doesnt quite do it. Good for large gatherings, but I wish they would turn down the music, its hard enough to hear the person on the next bench
Tasty Thai

tasty Thai food, although wish dishes were a bit spicier...but at these prices hard to complain. Haven't tried the house wine, but the cocktails packed a punch.
great reviews but why?

Cool place, love the big tables even if it is a rip off from Busaba Eathai in London. As for the food.... hmm ok. Everything taste a bit similar and don't touch the house wine. It's shocking.
