Christmas and New Year are a time for celebration, a time to catch up with family and friends, and a time to indulge in good food and wine. Ideally, it is best to combine all three. Dining out is one way in which this is possible, and it lets everyone relax and enjoy the occasion. The problem can be choosing where to go. The restaurant needs to have a warm, inviting and elegant ambience, combined with memorable fare for a reasonable price.

"Do not be afraid of cooking, as your ingredients will know and misbehave" -Fergus Henderson. This is the motto of the chefs at Corner Kitchen: owner/chef Vivian Herijanto, formerly of Jean-Georges New York, and new recruits Nathan Hogan of Azure among others and finally Dan Segall of hit restauant ZUMA. "Instead of cooking a rote recipe we offer a full culinary experience," explains Hogan.

Hike from MTR
Eatcouple | Oct 7 2011
It is quite a walk up the hill from the MTR station but I was rewarded with a gorgeous view by the windows. The food is nothing to write home about but I'm sure the attraction is not the food here.

Designer's dream
Ramenboy | Oct 6 2011
It is probably one of the best designed bar-cum-restaurants in town. Lunch is quite good value for money - HK$168 for Central is a bargain. The buffet selection is very decent too, especially dessert-wise. Great view.

Hip and trendy
Slimeats | Sep 22 2011
Located on two floors. The restaurant is hip and trendy, with some good food. The only complaint is that we got there rather late, and as the name suggests, the restaurant turned into a bar and it all got a little noisy and crowded for my likings as the night progressed.

Buffet lunch
Meltingpot | Jul 18 2011
Semi-buffet is a trend now and Azure, being a trendy restaurant, also offers this lunch option.

Nice space
JOng | Sep 5 2010
Stylish and posh space with high ceiling, which is rare. Very nice setting for a relaxing lunch and even more appropriate for business dinner (because of the price and the fact that you can take the clients to the bar for a drink right after) The dishes are nicely presented, and that's all I'm going to say. Service is slow but acceptable for lunch on Saturday.

unique setting for common food and drinks

Like a cinema set for the vampires' empire, where Count Dracula hosted his blood sucking grand balls, this place makes you wonder whether the customers are here for the treat, or whether they are the treats themselves! Great place to bring business visitors who wants to feel the hustle bustle of HK, especially on Friday nights when you can leave them to their wishes in the heart of LKF literally at an elevator's drop away. This, however, is where it stops for me. Music so loud you'd think you were in a concert hall, services always managed to confuse you as well as themselves, food and drinks that could easily have been made from another kitchen 10 floors down. Suggestion is to have a few drinks before you venture here. Good for private functions though

Huge improvement
delicious | Oct 19 2009
Went back recently after a year of avoiding it, and found the food and service have both improved significantly. Pretty good but a bit overpriced, but you are paying for a great space / location as well.

Spectacular view and great food
Bell | Sep 25 2009
I definitely would come again to enjoy the spectacular view of Central District and for the great value of food. They are currently doing the Tasting Menu which offers a variety of choices for the appetizer, main and dessert. Beautiful interior design of the restaurant.

Unintelligent waiter ruining an otherwise nice evening
Pongie | Sep 7 2009
Most of the people I know think the food is overpriced but I think it’s quite good. The environment is really nice too. One of the waiters was really clueless and brought us the wrong order and did not even apologise. Otherwise it was quite a nice evening.

Not impressed
Janice | May 26 2009
For the price and for such a beautiful decor, the quality of food sure didn't meet my expectations. Gorgeous interior, classy uniforms, extensive menus, however the food was disappointing, as was the service. Maybe this place is only suited for happy hour drinks.

Hit or miss
Peech | Apr 26 2009
The food is hit or miss at this place...uneven quality. Service is a bit poor. Ambience is good so come for drinks and not for the food.
