Angelini
08.12.2008
Everyone has their favourite Italian restaurant and given the number of choices in Hong Kong opinions on the best are varied and staunchly defended. A favourite of Princess Ira von Furstenberg is Angelini, who was impressed by the authentic and varied menu.

Pasta with Shrimp, Saffron and Parsley Purée - Angelini
11.08.2009
This divine pasta dish is super easy to make and comes from the restaurant's 4th anniversary menu.

Saffron
12.08.2009
The spice saffron is the dried stigmas of the saffron crocus and is considered the most expensive spice in the world, and with good reason. To begin it is a risky business that involves planting crocuses that need perfect weather to survive and flower, followed by hundreds of people needed to carefully pluck the stigmas of each flower by hand. There is only a one day window to pick the stigmas and the flowering season only lasts 1-2 weeks. It is then dried over a fire where any small mistake could see the whole lot go up in smoke. It takes 50,000 to 70,000 flowers to obtain approximately 450 grams of saffron. Luckily for the end user only a tiny amount of the aromatic spice is needed to add colour and impart a unique flavour to a dish.

Angelini - A Revisit
23.05.2011
A restaurant's reputation is often linked to the chef that heads up the kitchen, so what happens when a head chef moves on to explore other career opportunities? Sometimes the second in charge, who knows the recipes and the dishes, and who has been cooking them more than the head chef, will take over and this can create a seamless transition and ensure the continued good reputation of the restaurant. Other times, as is the case with Italian restaurant, Angelini, a new chef comes onboard.

Al Molo
21.06.2011
The newly-opened Al Molo at Ocean Terminal is a collaboration between Dining Concepts and the acclaimed New York chef Michael White, one of the nominees of the James Beard Best Chef Award in 2011. Let's see what he has in store for Hong Kong.

Lobster pasta
DPDdweller | Aug 30 2011
The Lobster Pasta is a must-try. The combination of fresh lobster with the pasta, all mixed in the tomato sauce is mouthwatering and never disappoints.

Two meals, two experiences. I came here recently once for the lunch buffet, which was good, and once for dinner which I thought was not so spectacular. The food is solid, but not stellar.

Italian Brunch
Eatcouple | Jul 26 2011
Love the service at this classy restaurant. It is a semi-brunch buffet - buffet antipasti and dessert only. The antipasti selection was so so. The sea bass (main course) was quite nice but I should have ordered the lamb dish which was very well presented, juicy, tender and tasted perfect. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment. Two out of three items I tried were way too sweet but maybe perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

Always a hit

My family loves Angelini. From the friendly welcome at the front to the servers who make you feel special, this is our top choice for family Italian dinners. The mozzarella and tomatoes are always fresh, and the pasta choices are superb. Tried the lobster cannelloni and it was sensational. Always leave room for the tiramisu!

Excellent
Claire | Oct 23 2009
On the occasions that we have dined there - the cuisine has been consistently authentic and superb, the menu and wine list impressive, the service friendly, efficient yet non-intrusive, and the ambience/decor warm and inviting. One of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong to date, and we've been here 10 years.
