Restaurant Highlight - Top Deck

Summer months are fast approaching, and what better way to lighten the coming weather by introducing a new genre of summer dishes. A dining experience at Top Deck is a special one; the boat ride, a rare al fresco experience, and luxurious views of grand yachts on pristine waters - sounds like a vacation already.

Tastes Like Paradise

Time to put on your shades and sunscreen folks, and take some good company on a boat ride to Top Deck, the ultimate place to enjoy the warm weather. Experience the finest exotic cuisines of the globe al fresco while sipping away on a tropical drink, while lying on resort furniture. You'll swear you've just eloped to paradise.

Top Deck's menu touches every part of the globe; from Japan, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, India, Europe, and S.E. Asia to name a few. You won't find yourself stranded on lonely waters here.

New sharing dishes like Italy's Fritto Misto di Mare, perfect for divvying with your party. A lightly ale-battered medley of perfectly timed rock oysters, tiger prawns, Hokkaido sea scallops, Pacific trevally, and veggies in a woven basket is a feast for the eyes. A wide assortment of condiments like wasabi mayo, sweet chilli sauce and sauce remoulade, plus a few more, and of course your favourite ice cold lager to wash it down. Quick hands is what you need for this plate, because things can get a little competitive here. Or dive into Vietnam, the Vietnamese Salmon Tartare Rice Paper Rolls makes a great app. for those hot-hot Ho Chi Minh days.

Take a trip to Spain with the Seafood Paella Valencia. Saffron scented rice alla Español toppled with luxuries of the sea, served in a rustic pan and accompanied by garlic bread and a peppery rouille. Can you say - Hola Señorita?

The Oven-Roasted Porcini Stuffed French Spring Chicken is one of those dishes that appeals to everyone. The bird is roasted to a juicy tenderness, whilst the porcini absorbs the juices of the chicken, finished with a lovely drizzle of the cognac foie gras sauce and shavings of delicate black truffle. The sides of ribboned vegetables, and buttery smashed potatoes is definitely a bonus.

And for those who can't decide between meat and seafood, check out the Top Deck Surf and Turf. Perched highly is a fanatical tiger king prawn on a slab of chargrilled US Black Angus; a wild mushroom sauce for the land, and lemon butter sauce for the sea. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?

No meal is complete without dessert. The Port Wine Pear and Vanilla Charlotte is a fine choice. A fencing of Italian lady fingers around a pure blanc whipped vanilla cream, and saddled above is an alluring crimson pear. The smooth as silk custard marries with the sweetness of the port-stained Anjou pear, while the lady fingers add a little lightness to the whole picture.

We all need a little oomph now and then, and that's not just for the humans of this crazy city, intelligent restaurants are catching on to the evolving trends too. The Top Deck experience is colourful, it's the perfect escape from city life, it's a destination.
