Eat, Drink and Be Merry at Azure

Azure Restaurant Slash Bar is a place to see and be seen. Food lovers can pamper their palate with creative dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients and with a presentation as dazzling as the view from the 29th and 30th floors of Hotel LKF by Rhombus in bustling Lan Kwai Fong, Central.

Their exquisite Christmas set dinner menu - "In Celebration of Starlight" - starts with ‘The Jealous Lobster'. Shredded green apple and pear sits on top of the green apple jelly, giving this dish a fresh spin. The sweetness from the lobster and refreshing taste of the green apple are enhanced by the crispy bacon chips and egg dressing.

Another highlight on the menu is ‘The Pigeon's Nest', a rich pigeon consommé in tortellini and poached quail egg. Take a sip of the intensely-flavoured consommé before biting into the poached quail egg. The stuffing of the tortellini matches well with the consommé, and the different textures makes this a seemingly simple but complex dish.

The main course, ‘Meat Lovers' in Heaven' is the marriage of two brilliant cuts of meat - roasted Australian rack of lamb and seared US Angus beef tenderloin. Although the combination seems quite heavy, the tangy eggplant caviar and fluffy spinach purée cuts through the greasiness of the meat. The sweetbread - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside - is always a connoisseurs' favourite.

The ‘Nutty and Sweet' dessert is presented as an almond honey log cake. The log cake is made with 85% chocolate and crispy almond, resembling a mini version of the classic Christmas dessert. On the side, the dried fruit inside the Christmas pudding pairs perfectly with the heavier flavour of the chocolate.

New Year's Eve is known to be the ultimate celebration evening at the end of the festive season and Azure's Restaurant Chef Joe Chu has created a lighter menu with high quality ingredients to maintain the holiday spirit.

Aptly named "Looking Ahead of Time", the menu begins with the light ‘Salad in the Winter', consisting of warm grilled asparagus and poached quail egg in a light lemon vinaigrette. This is followed by ‘Truffle Scallop Ceviche' - the dressing, made with lemon and orange juice enhanced with truffle oil, brings out the sweetness of the Hokkaido scallops.

Warm up with the ‘Wild Mushroom & Leek Cappuccino'. The "cappuccino" is a cup of consommé made with different types of mushroom. The foam on top gives the dish its name, and the earthy flavours of the mushrooms are released through the thick foam.

Fish and meat dishes are featured on this delightful menu; the ‘Char-Grilled Atlantic Salmon' and ‘Seared Wagyu Beef Tenderloin' are both decadent and delicious.

The grand finale of the menu is the ‘Apple and Fennel Tarte'. The tartness of the apple is heightened by the apple purée, which is a delightful way to end the meal, before ringing in the New Year.

Azure is the ideal venue for celebrations this Christmas season. Whether you are waiting for that special moment under the mistletoe or getting ready to count down to the New Year, indulge in these festive menus exclusively created by Restaurant Chef Joe Chu at Azure Restaurant Slash Bar.
