Yan Toh Heen first opened its doors to connoisseurs close to 30 years ago and it has been renowned for its exquisite Cantonese cuisine ever since. Outstanding cooking, impeccable service and breath-taking views of the harbour put Yan Toh Heen on the map as one of the finest Chinese restaurants in the world.

The low ceiling and golden honey tones create an elegant atmosphere that complements the delicate green of the jade table settings. Priceless Chinese antiques adorn the entrance of the restaurant, and antique Chinese tapestries from the eighteenth century also can be found on the walls.

Tremendous attention has been paid to the table-settings at Yan Toh Heen - the presentation plates, matching napkin rings, curved spoons and carved fish that is used as a chopstick rest are all handcrafted in green jade, creating a focal point at the restaurant. The panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island through the wrap-around windows provide a beautiful backdrop for the meal.

The authentic Cantonese cuisine is overseen by Chef Lau Yiu Fai, whose philosophy rests on using only the freshest and finest quality ingredients, combined with refined Chinese cooking methods and creative modern presentation. This proves to be the formula for exceptional Cantonese cuisine.

Chef Lau's famous Golden Frog Legs with Spicy Salt are comprised of plump and succulent meat enveloped in a golden crust that is crunchy and salty. The flavour of the meat is retained inside the crispy exterior.

One of the signature dishes is the Golden Stuffed Crab Shell with Crabmeat. Underneath the thin crunchy golden top is a creamy and thick stuffing of crabmeat, mushroom and onion. The baked meat is seasoned delicately so that one can still taste the natural sweetness from the crab.

Another dish not to be missed is the Wok-Fried Wagyu Beef with Green Peppers, Mushrooms and Garlic. An exceptionally tasty dish served in a golden wheat flour basket, the meat is cooked to medium rare so it is juicy and tender.

Crispy Lung Kong Chicken is a signature dish. The meat is kept tender and moist, while the skin is crispy and thin.

At lunchtime, aside from the a la carte menu, diners can enjoy an extensive selection of traditional and modern dim sum.
