Zhejiang Cuisine

From 17 July to 6 August, a team of five guest chefs from the renowned five-star Nanyuan Hotel in Ningbo, will be taking The Royal Garden's Dong Lai Shun diners on a culinary tour of their famous region.

Zhejiang cuisine combines elements from Hangzhou, Wenzhou and Ningbo, and is one of the eight categories of Chinese cooking. Ningbo is famous for its seafood and preserved vegetables, while Ningbo chefs are known for their stir-frying and deep-frying techniques, as well as their skills in simmering and steaming. Highlights of the specially-created menu include Marinated Sea Whelks with Beer; Stewed Bean Curd with Flowering Cabbage in Soup; Boiled Yellow Croaker Fish Soup with Preserved Vegetables; Sautéed Diced Pork with Shrimps, Bamboo Shoots and Peanuts; Sautéed Eel Shreds Ningbo Style; Boiled Kasha with Shrimps in Soup; and Boiled Glutinous Rice Dumplings Ningbo Style.
