Wine Pairing Dinner
The newly joined Director of Wine of the Miramar Group, Yves Sauboua, is taking Cuisine Cuisine’s diners on a wine and culinary journey. He has selected five sophisticated wines from France, Australia and Spain, and paired them with a sumptuous six-course tasting menu. The Fine Wine Dinner is priced at $950 per head (minimum 2 persons) or $600 without wine. Guests who enjoy the Fine Wine Dinner will receive a coupon to order a bottle of Paul Blanck Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg 2006 Alsace at a special price of $298 (original value $650) on the next visit. Having tried the wine dinner I can highly recommend it and the Riesling was my favourite of the wines, delicious!
The first wine is Pazo de Senorans Albarino 2007 DO Rias Baixas Spain (Robert Parker 92 points), which is paired with Sautéed Prawns with Green Anise Pepper and Basil - a favourite course for me. Next is the Les Domaniers Rosé 2007 AOC Cotes de Provence, France, with Braised Lobster Thick Soup with Crab Claw and Black Truffle.
Cuisine Cuisine’s signature Braised Whole Abalone served on Fresh Mushroom and Vegetables then accompanies the elegant Paul Blanck Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg 2006, Alsace, France (Robert Parker 88 points). Savour the rich Pan-fried Wagyu Beef Rolled with Asparagus and Crispy Garlic, and Fried Assorted Grain Rice with Conpoy and Assorted Vegetable with the Torbreck Winery The Struie 2006 Barossa Valley, Australia (Robert Parker 92 points). The menu rounds up with Chilled Mango Pudding paired with the highly enjoyable Paul Jaboulet Muscat de Beaumes de Venise Chant des Griolles 2007 France.
