Island Shangri-la celebrates the Year of Dragon

 

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong welcomes the Year of the Dragon with a selection of gourmet hampers and dining options to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Restaurant Petrus
On 24 January 2012 (the second day of the Chinese New Year), Restaurant Petrus has reserved front-row seats for guests to experience one of the most exciting festivals in the city. With a backdrop of the fireworks display over Victoria Harbour, guests can dine on a six-course dinner menu specially prepared by Chef de Cuisine Frederic Chabbert, priced at $1,588* per person.

cafe TOO
From 22 to 25 January 2012, the cafe TOO culinary team will continue its theatrical performances with a lunch buffet priced at $408* (adult) and $248* (child), available from noon to 3 p.m., and a dinner buffet priced at $558* (adult) and $338* (child), available from 6 to 11:30 p.m.

Summer Palace
Guests can reunite with family and friends while enjoying a traditional Chinese feast at Summer Palace. In addition to the dim sum and dessert menus, Chef Ip Chi Cheung has created a special menu comprising auspiciously named recommendations.

Island Gourmet
Island Gourmet has prepared a collection of home-made puddings and gourmet hampers that convey messages of good fortune, such as Chinese New Year Pudding, Taro Pudding and Turnip Pudding, all priced at $208 per box.

• Ruby Hamper (HK$1,588)
Chinese New Year pudding, Chinese cookies, chocolate bars, candies, Chinese tea, porcini mushrooms, roasted almonds, jam, Shangri-La red packets, a bottle of yellow wine and red wine.

• Jade Hamper (HK$2,288)
Chinese New Year pudding, Chinese cookies, chocolate bars, candies, Summer Palace X.O. sauce, Chinese tea, porcini mushrooms, tin of abalone, roasted almonds, honey, Shangri-La red packets and a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne.

• Diamond Hamper (HK$3,288)
Chinese New Year pudding, Chinese cookies, chocolate bars, candies, Summer Palace X.O. sauce, Chinese tea, porcini mushrooms, dried mushrooms, tin of abalone, roasted almonds, jam, honey, Shangri-La red packets, a bottle of premium red wine and a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne.

A box of Chinese New Year puddings will be presented to guests for every hamper purchase of over HK$2,500.

Island Gourmet offers delivery services to Hong Kong Island ($150 per item), Kowloon ($200 per item) and New Territories ($300 per item).

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong’s Spring Package
An accommodation package priced at HK$4,500 for a Deluxe Peak View Room or $5,100 for a Deluxe Harbour View Room is available from 21 January to 5 February 2012. Privileges include daily breakfast buffet at cafe TOO for two persons, Chinese New Year in-room amenities and guaranteed late check-out at 4 p.m. Guests staying for three consecutive nights can enjoy one complimentary night of accommodation that can be redeemed at a selected Shangri-La hotel or resort.
