Hong Kong's new Aussie-style bistro & bar Coast in SoHo is serving a gastronomic six-course Valentine's Day degustation menu priced at $530 or $770 with matching champagne, wines and port. The romantic celebration, which begins with an aphrodisiac starter of oysters served three ways, natural, Kilpatrick and crème fraiche with caviar - paired perfectly with Moet Imperial Brut Vintage NV champagne.
A seafood specialty, South Australian lobster tails in lemon tarragon butter, follows paired with the fragrant Cape Mentelle semillon sauvignon blanc 2008. Next is the slow roasted duck ravioli with pepper & truffle cream sauce paired with Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon followed by a main course of fillet of spring lamb with "paysanne" root vegetables - paired with a full bodied Cape Mentelle shiraz 2007. A dessert of warm chocolate pot with pistachio biscotti & fresh strawberries is paired with the award winning Cape Mentelle Zinfandel 2005. Last is Croft Distinction port served with a Tasmanian cheese plate followed by coffee & liqueurs.
