Club Des Chefs Des Chefs Dinner
Anyone who is interested in what heads of state prefer for breakfast, or what the favourite dishes are for presidents and royalty, now has the opportunity to find out, when Mandarin Oriental welcomes the arrival of 25 chefs who cook for the world’s premiers, presidents and monarchs.
Known as “Club Des Chefs Des Chefs”, this exclusive group of top cooks will be in Hong Kong from 17 to 21 August, beginning their visit with a gala dinner on 18 August in the hotel’s ballroom. Each table of eight will be hosted by one chef, affording guests a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of life as a chef to the world’s most influential leaders. Among the attendees will be chefs for the Great Hall of The People in Beijing, President Obama, Her Majesty the Queen of Great Britain, and President Sarkozy alongside many other current chefs to royalty, presidents and governments.
Tickets for the dinner at The Connaught Room are priced at $12,000 + 10% per table of eight for a six-course dinner including wine. The dinner has been created by Uwe Opocensky and will feature: Spiral Olive, Sesame, Oil; Crispy Fish Fried Garoupa, Chinese Wine Vinegar; Peking Duck Waffle; Tea Chicken Broth, Chervil, Gold, Flower, Tea Bag; Beggar Chicken Lotus Leaf, Chinese Mushroom, Preserved Vegetable, Shell; Butterfly Raspberry, Chocolate, Hazelnut; and Bird Cage Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Custard, Caramel Apple, Pineapple Puff, Chilled Mango Pudding.
