Hotel Nikko will introduce a cooking class series, that it calls “Cooking with Talent”. The classes are hands-on and each participant will have their own cooking station. Held every alternate week, the 2-hour class is followed by a lunch (lunch buffet at Café Serena for European cuisine or dessert class; Chinese lunch set at Toh Lee for Cantonese cuisine lesson; Japanese lunch set at Sagano for Japanese cuisine class). Participants will also receive a complimentary apron and a $200 cash coupon for semi-buffet dinner at Les Celebrites. From 3-7 September, Yan Toh Heen, will welcome celebrity Japanese chef Yuji Wakiya, owner and chef of Turandot and Wakiya. Known in Japan as the "Iron Chef" of Chinese cuisine, thanks to his appearances on the popular TV programme which originated in Japan, and internationally for his creative Chinese cuisine infused with Japanese influences, Chef Wakiya is collaborating with Yan Toh Heen executive chef Lau Yiu Fai to create an innovative special menu showcasing specially imported seasonal Japanese ingredients.
The 8-course set menu is $1,988 per person, inclusive of sake pairing and will continue to be available for the rest of the month.

The much sought Matsutake mushroom is being served at Nagomi, in September and October. Signatures include Steamed Hirame Rolled with Matsutake Mushrooms, and Matsutake Mushroom Tea Pot Soup.
At Harbour Grand Cafe in October, guest chef Kim Jae Sun, from Seoul, Korea, will bring traditional Korean food culture to diners. He has tailor-made 20 dishes including Sautéed Beef Tripes with Glass Noodles and Vegetables, Korean Traditional Rice Punch and Grilled Barbecued Beef Spare Ribs.
At Le 188˚ it is all about the black truffle with a highlight being Pan Fried Giant Scallop with black truffle potato foam, and for dessert Black Truffle Full Moon Cake - featuring truffle, honey and white chocolate.
Kwan Cheuk Heen regales guests with a selection of Hang Zhou dishes, from Deep-fired Mandarin Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauce, Baked Hang Zhou Beggar Chicken to Sautéed Shrimps with Long Jing Tea Leaf.

Steamed, braised, sautéed, deep-fried…choices include sautéed eel, bamboo shoots and pepper served with Chinese pancake; braised canton carp with gravy, black pepper sauce and vegetables; and steamed freshwater eel with yellow wine and Chinese herbs. For keen cooks, The Peninsula Academy culinary classes are the perfect way to learn the secrets of the hotel’s award-winning restaurants. Taught by individual Peninsula restaurant chefs and held throughout the year over four mornings, classes also include an optional behind-the-scenes kitchen tour, product knowledge and tips, together with a lunch to sample some of the dishes demonstrated during the class.
