Why everyone is obsessed with The Cheesecake Factory in Hong Kong

The Cheesecake Factory seems to be pulling everyone in. Maybe it's the catchy name, or maybe it's the celebrities raving about it. But it happened in New York, and now it's happening in Hong Kong - hundreds of people are lining up for hours to get a chance to sit on those crimson couch seats.

A Family restaurant in the style of the diner from Pulp Fiction, there's something nostalgic about The Cheesecake Factory that reminds us of classic Americana. The brightly-lit counter filled with dozens of cheesecake varieties, the plush Vegas-style couches and the classic tiled floors, it’s as if a diner from the 1980s suburban Midwest has been transported brick-by-brick to the heart of modern Hong Kong. Maybe that's why everyone is desperate to try it..

Their menu spans 20 pages, yes, TWENTY. There are over 200 signature items and 30 different cheesecakes to choose from. Each of these dishes come in huge portions, American portions, with cheesecake that is light enough to keep you going, and rich enough to keep you satisfied. We recommend the strawberry cheesecake, while the syrup was a little too sweet for our taste, the cheesecake itself was glorious. But really, it is the whole very-American atmosphere of it that really drew us to The Cheesecake Factory and at this point, it’s safe to say it has an international cult following really.
