Dan Ryan's new opening at Cityplaza

Dan Ryan’s holds a special part in our heart, especially for those who grew up in Hong Kong. To some, it was a nostalgic before-the-cinema hang out spot. For others, it was where they had their first ‘big’ birthday party. The sound of the toy-train, the rustling of crayons and the mayhem of laughing children are all motifs that we associate with Dan Ryan’s.So consequently, the news of Dan Ryan’s bringing back their toy train was enough to perk our ears. Dan Ryan’s, Hong Kong’s local haven for American comfort food will be back on the island with a new location at Tai Koo Shing and we are completely thrilled.

The portions are still huge. The salad came with a blueberry dressing, a small healthier step from their past salads. Their chilli burger (refined recipe) is just as good we remember it, a definite must-have. They added new international dishes such as their Japanese-inspired Hokkaido scallop.

Their interior is new and old-- with inspirations from classic American dinner houses of the 30’s and 40’s, Dan Ryan’s is bringing back their toy train from our nostalgic Dan Ryan’s memories and their iconic buffalo head. A new interior, new menu items and new promotions are some things to look forward to.
